Wow, where do I even begin with this STUNNING wedding venue? The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is one of the most unique and beautiful venues that I have gotten to shoot a wedding at. This award-winning Grand Rapids wedding venue has both a greenhouse and garden room for ceremony options. If you imagine your wedding day to be modern and luxurious with lots of greenery in the heart of a big city, then you are in the right place! The Grand Rapids venue blew me away with everything from the perfect lighting to the lush and vibrant plants.

Okay, I could seriously go on and on about how much I love this Grand Rapids wedding venue so I wanted to share the main things that stood out to me:

Greenhouse Ceremony

One of the ceremony options is literally in a greenhouse!! I mean how could a wedding here not be beautiful? With all of the greenery that is already there and the big open windows, you only really need some flowers to make this the perfect ceremony space for you!

Lots of Vibrant Greenery

I know, I know, I have already mentioned all of the greenery but it needs to be said again. The lush plants all over the greenhouse truly bring the space to life. It adds so much color and tranquility to the space!

Stunning Indoor Lighting

Since the greenhouse has massive windows on all sides, the lighting is as though you are outside. They did an amazing job of bringing the outdoors inside for this space.

Location, Location, Location

This venue is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. This makes it super easy to find accommodations and for your guests to easily Uber/Lyft from their hotel to the wedding. And because it is in the middle of a big city, there are tons of amazing wedding vendors to choose from!

Views of the Downtown Cityscape

At night time, the greenhouse has the most stunning views of the downtown cityscape all lit up. It is absolutely gorgeous and you can even head to a rooftop garage nearby for some photos!

Great For Micro-Weddings and Large Weddings

Whether you are having a large 150-person wedding or a small micro-wedding with less than 30 people, it has options for both. The Garden room is perfect for smaller weddings while the greenhouse is for larger weddings.

Getting Ready Spaces at Downtown Market Grand Rapids

For an additional fee, you can add on a dressing area for both the bride and groom. While this is an option, I would recommend getting some hotel rooms nearby as you will have more space and freedom.

Ceremony Sites

Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is the largest ceremony site at this Grand Rapids wedding venue. It can host up to 180 guests and can also be transformed into your reception space. There is lush greenery everywhere, beautiful natural lighting, and floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors in! You also have the option to add on the outdoor terraces if you want to maybe have your cocktail hour out there or just another place for your guests to hang out.

Garden Room

The Garden room is very similar to the greenhouse but much smaller in scale with even more greenery. It’s an intimate botanical garden atmosphere perfect for a micro-wedding. The space can also be transformed into your reception.

Reception Space

The Banquet Room

The Banquet room is another beautiful space that offers floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s a simple space that offers a blank canvas for you to bring your dream wedding to life.

The best part about this venue is that because it is indoors you can really get married here at any time of year.

How far in advance should we book this venue?

This is a super popular venue in Grand Rapids so I would recommend trying to book 1.5 to years in advance if you can.

Does Grand Rapids Downtown Market offer catering?

They do not offer catering but they do have a kitchen area for your caterers to be able to prep food.

Should we hire a wedding planner?

If you are having a larger wedding, then yes I would definitely recommend hiring a wedding planner or at least a day-of coordinator.
